The most depressing sight I remember from Puerto Del Carmen was the beautiful “Costa” hotel near the beach. There are three swimming pools, hundreds of sun loungers and a real crowd of hotel guests basking in the sun like walruses on hot stones. Why depressing? Because 100 meters away, behind a glass fence, there is an extraordinary ocean and a beautiful, wide beach of Los Pocillos.
